Organ Donation Awareness
I'm heading up part of the Campus Challenge here at ISU in Illinois. I just wanted to spread the word that now is the time to sign up on the new state registry to become an organ donor. Illinois residents can go to www.donatelifeillinois.com to sign up. And there are links there for all USA state registries as well. Please look into it if you have a few spare minutes. There are lots of good facts listed there like:
There are over 100,000 people in this country alone on an organ transplant waiting list.
14 people die every day waiting for such an organ.
and
1 organ donor can save up to 25 lives.
It's a great this to be involved in. And in a way..... it could make you a modern day hero- so to speak. :)
